Introduzione / Introduction

Il Centro Internazionale di Fisica Teorica (ICTP) e il Comune di Trieste e Maker Media Inc., in collaborazione con numerosi partner, organizzano la terza Trieste Mini Maker Faire che si terrà sabato 21 e domenica 22 maggio 2016 nel campus ICTP di Miramare. Centinaia di Maker si riuniranno per presentare al pubblico i loro progetti, il risultato della loro creatività e delle loro idee. L’ingresso sarà gratuito per tutti.

The International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the Comune di Trieste and Maker Media Inc., in collaboration with many partners, are organizing the third Trieste Mini Maker Faire on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2016 at ICTP’s Miramare Campus. Hundreds of Makers will gather to showcase the results of their creativity and to share their ideas with the general public. The event provides free entrance for everybody.

Maker Faire è un movimento globale che vuole ispirare, educare e intrattenere le persone curiose e creative di ogni età. La Mini Maker Faire di Trieste raduna e fa scoprire makers, inventori, artigiani, scienziati e artisti provenienti da Triveneto, Slovenia, Croazia e oltre. Nel mostrare i progetti da loro realizzati, gli espositori condividono con il pubblico la loro passione per il “fare” e coinvolgono tutti i visitatori in questo slancio creativo.

Maker Faire is a global movement aiming to inspire, educate and entertain curious and creative minds of all ages. The Trieste Mini Maker Faire has brought together and uncovered makers, inventors, scientists, crafters, artists and all other passionate creative enthusiasts from the Triveneto region of Italy as well as Slovenia, Croatia and beyond. While showing their projects, participants also shared their passion for making and inspired visitors to make things themselves. Special attention has been given to ideas and projects of educational interest and aimed at developing countries.

Cos’è la Maker Faire / About Maker Faire

Maker Faire è il più grande spettacolo di “Mostra e Dimostra” —un evento aperto alle famiglie che propone novità, creatività e inventiva, oltre che una celebrazione del movimento dei makers. Un’occasione dove gli inventori mostrano le loro opere e condividono ciò che hanno imparato.

I makers sono persone che spaziano dagli entusiasti della tecnologia ai costruttori artigianali, dagli hobbisti agli scienziati a chi inventa qualcosa in cantina, persone di tutte le età e formazione. Lo scopo di una Maker Faire è intrattenere, informare, connettere le persone e far crescere la comunità. La prima Maker Faire si è svolta a San Mateo in California e nel 2013 ha celebrato la sua ottava edizione annuale con oltre 900 makers e 120 mila visitatori. La World Maker Faire di New York, l’altro evento principale, è cresciuta in quattro anni a più di 600 makers e 75 mila visitatori. Detroit, Kansas City, Roma, Oslo, Tokyo, Newcastle e Shenzhen ospitano delle fiere a tema (più di 200 makers), e centinaia di Mini Maker Faire organizzate localmente dalle comunità di makers si svolgono negli Stati Uniti e nel mondo —compresa questa di Trieste.

About Maker Faire:

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

In addition, over 120 community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world—including right here in Trieste.
