La TSMMF sarà preceduta dal primo Science Picnic italiano

Quest’anno ai due giorni della Trieste Mini Maker Faire del 21 e 22 maggio si aggiungerà la giornata di venerdì 20 maggio, dedicata alle scuole di ogni ordine e grado, in cui il campus di Miramare diventerà un laboratorio all’aperto dove divertirsi con la scienza al fuori delle aule scolastiche. Si tratta della novità del primo Science Picnic Trieste, un giorno intero (orario 9-16) durante il quale studenti e insegnanti potranno assistere e partecipare a una vasta scelta di esperimenti interattivi, spettacoli, brevi incontri su svariati argomenti scientifici, laboratori didattici, interventi di divulgatori e ricercatori. Lo scopo è avvicinare i giovani al lato creativo della scienza e della tecnologia per farli appassionare e perché considerino una possibile carriera nella ricerca. Lo stile sarà informale e allegro, secondo un format premiato dalla Commissione Europea come uno dei dieci migliori progetti europei dell’ultimo decennio nel campo “Scienza e Società”. I maker selezionati per la TSMMF che intendono presentare dei contenuti in sintonia con lo spirito e le finalità del Science Picnic saranno invitati ad estendere la loro presenza a Miramare anche al venerdì.

This year the Trieste Mini Maker Faire will be preceded by a special day, Friday 20 May, reserved to students of primary and secondary schools, during which our Miramare campus will be transformed into an outdoor laboratory where science –freed from the usual classrooms– becomes fun. We are happy to introduce the first Science Picnic Trieste, a whole day (from 9am to 4pm) in which students and teachers will be able to be an active part of a wide selection of interactive experiments, science shows, short talks on various scientific topics, hands-on workshops, interactions with researchers and scientific explainers. The goal is to expose them to the creative side of science and technology, to galvanize them so that they may consider a career as researcher. The style will be informal and entertaining, following the format selected by the European Commission as one of the best 10 european projects of the last decade in the field “Science and Society”. All makers selected for the TSMMF with a project fitting the spirit and goals of the Science Picnic will be invited to extend their exhibit also to Friday.
